Mecum has sourced two examples of the rare Corvette L88 model – a matching hard-top and convertible – which will be sold at its Kissimmee sale on January 3-13
Between 1967-69, Chevrolet produced the L88 Corvette, which quickly became one of the most desirable and rare Corvettes. Only 216 were made, and all included the L88 247/430 HP V8 engine. At Mecum’s Kissimmee auction next January, a pair of these rare cars will be going up for sale. One is a coupe, and one’s a convertible, and they’re both in excellent condition.
The combined estimate of this 1969 pair, both in Tuxedo Black, is $1,100,000 – $1,350,000 (£870,000 – £1,070,000, €965,000 – €1,180,000). What adds to the values of these already rare cars is that the convertible has had a celebrity owner history, and the coupe has driven just over 2000 miles since new.
